  • René Milner

    Children's minister

    René has lived in northern Coweta County since she and Gary married in 1982. She first became part of the Palmetto Baptist Church family as a teacher in the weekday preschool in 1990. After five years as a preschool teacher she worked as a teaching assistant with the Coweta County School system for 17 years. Gary and René have four children, Alicia, Jessie and Maggie, and two grandchildren. All currently live about two hours from home.  René joined Palmetto Baptist Church as the Interim Children's Minister in June of 2013 and began serving full time as the Children's Minister in January of 2014.


  • Alfonso illidge

    hispanic minister

    Alfonso Illidge came to PBC in 2014, from Central Church in Douglasville, GA, to serve as Interim Pastor for the Palmetto Hispanic Ministry. Rev. Illidge was later asked to stay as their pastor permanently. Rev. Illidge served as a pastor with Central Baptist Church Hispanic Ministry before coming to PBC. He is a graduate of Liberty University in Lynburng, VA. Rev. Illidge holds a Masters Degree in Divinity, with concentration in church work. He also has a Bachelors Degree from Interamerican University in Puerto Rico, and an Associate Degree in Electronics Engineering from the Institute of Technology. Alfonso is very missions minded and likes to travel when opportunity arises. He plans to pursue his Doctorate degree in the near future.

    Alfonso is married to Edna, and they have three children, Isaac Daniel, David Joel, and Alexandra. They also have one granddaughter, Harper Elin.


  • Kathy wood

    Kathy and Tommy have  been members at PBC for over 20 years. They have 2 children and 5 grandchildren.  Kathy has been part of the Ministry here at PBC for over 4 years. She previously worked at Coweta County Board of Education for 12 years as a Secretary/Bookkeeper.


  • Dina Duffey

    Weekday preschool director

    Dina has had many job titles the past 10 years with Palmetto Baptist Church Preschool. She has been a assistant teacher, assistant director, 3 yr. old teacher and in 2018 took on the role as director of the preschool. Dina is a member of Palmetto Baptist Church. Dina has been married to her husband Scott Duffey for 23 years, and they have two sons, Brandon and Brady. You can contact Dina at


  • dwayne knox

    facilities manager

    Dwayne has been married to Myra Knox for many wonderful years. He has 6 children, Shantaria, Kimberley, Renard, Rashad, Latoya, and Dwayne, Jr. They are also blessed with three grandchildren, Jacorey, Jasean, and Dorian. He has been a part of the ministry here at PBC for over 10 years.  He is an Assistant Pastor at Rivertown United Methodist Church, in Fairburn, GA. He also serves as the Student Minister for his church, along with many other responsibilities. He is known as the "hotdog cooker" at his church! 


  • Damon Skelton

    Traditional Worship leader

    Damon Skelton has been teaching math in Coweta County for 25 years, currently at Northgate High School.  He is married to Lisa Skelton and has 3 children, Jared, Forrest, and Skylar and one grandchild, Jonah. He received a music education degree from Texas Wesleyan College in 1984 which has aided him in serving as music directors in several churches for the past 34 years.  Damon served in a part time capacity at Second Memorial Baptist in Perry, Georgia but moved to Newnan to serve full time at Unity Baptist Church.   Upon leaving Unity Baptist, Damon got his math certification at West Georgia and then his Master’s degree from Piedmont College.  Damon has served as part time minister of music for SonRise Baptist Church, Bethel Baptist Church, First Baptist Senoia, Sharpsburg Baptist and is currently serving at Palmetto Baptist. 


    Contemporary Worship Leader

    Jed Cornelison was born in Moultrie, GA, but grew up in Griffin, GA. Jed had a love for music from a young age. He grew up serving in the church's Youth Praise band at FBC Griffin from middle school on. After high school he traveled all over North America as well as other countries as a sound engineer for a touring band. During this time he served as the Music Coordinator for the students at FBC Griffin. In 2009, he started leading worship at Dogwood Church in Tyrone, GA and stopped touring with the band he was working with. That following year he also served as a Co-Worship Leader at FBC Griffin where he served every other Sunday between Dogwood and FBC. In the summer of 2016 he left FBC where he went on to be the Music Director for the Students at Dogwood and Worship Leader for the church as well. Jed is also a songwriter and has many songs in both secular and Christian music recorded and released on all of the available platforms. Jed is married to his beautiful bride Mandy and they have two children Pepper and Scout.

  • Eric Patterson

    Minister of Students

    Eric Patterson hails from Huntsville Al. He attended the University of Alabama where he attained his BA and MA. During his time in Tuscaloosa he served as the Education and Awareness Coordinator for the University of Alabama while also serving as Music Director at New Dimensions Worship Center. He was awarded University of Alabama’s Graduate Student of the Year award in 2015. In the fall of 2015, Eric moved to Atlanta to attend Emory University where he would earn his MDiv with a focus on Scripture and Interpretation. While at Emory, he taught an undergraduate course as well as served as a Fundraising Manager for Georgia Public Broadcasting, a chaplain for Campbell-Stone Retirement home, and as a Pastoral Intern for Salem UMC in Conyers Ga. In 2016 Eric married his beautiful wife Wellyna and in January of 2018 they were blessed with a son, Emory Patterson.

  • Jess Wilbanks

    Senior Adult minister

    Jess moved to Palmetto in 2017 from South Carolina. Originally from Mississippi, her family moved several times while growing up, serving with the military. Jess graduated from the University of Mississippi with a Bachelors in Liberal Arts and from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary with a Masters in Christian Education. While in New Orleans, she met her husband Blake. After moving to South Carolina, Jess served as Minister to Children and Students in Williston, SC and also as director of a rural United Way in Barnwell County, SC. They have two children, Michael is in college and Atticus was born in the summer of 2018. The Wilbanks live in the heart of Palmetto and made a century old house their home.
