  • Jimmy orr

    Senior Pastor

    Jimmy has been the pastor of Palmetto Baptist Church since September, 2000. Dr. Orr holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism from the University of Georgia, a Masters of Divinity degree in Preaching and Pastoral Ministries from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, and a Doctor of Ministry degree in Pastoral Ministries from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. In addition to Palmetto Baptist Church, he has served Bethlehem Baptist Church and Concord Baptist Church, both in Cumming, Georgia.  Dr. Orr has served as moderator of the Fairburn Baptist Association, and as chair of the Board of Trustees, Georgia Baptist Children's Homes and Family Ministries, Inc. Dr. Orr is married to Amanda McPherson. Their son, Zach, and his wife Micole, and dog Jack, live in Loganville, Georgia. Their daughter, Hillary is a pharmacist. The Orr's reside in Palmetto, Georgia, with Herman the Cat, and Lucy, the Demon Dog.

    contemporary music minister

    Matt is 34 years old, and currently resides in Newnan, GA, with his wife, Danielle and their son Carter who was born January 27, 2016. He has always had a passion for God and music. Matt has led worship in various church denominations, camps, high schools, and conferences over the last 18 years. His family is from Elkins, WV. He has 2 biological sisters, 1 adopted brother, and 2 adopted sisters. Matt's mom and dad have been great models of Christ's love in his life, and He is very grateful for that. Matt has been at Palmetto Baptist Church since July, 2009. He serves this church body as the Contemporary Music Minister, and is honored to serve in this ministry. He loves seeing lives changed in "His" presence.

  • René Milner

    Children's minister

    René has lived in northern Coweta County since she and Gary married in 1982. She first became part of the Palmetto Baptist Church family as a teacher in the weekday preschool in 1990. After five years as a preschool teacher she worked as a teaching assistant with the Coweta County School system over the past 17 years. Gary and René have four children, Alicia, Jessie and Maggie all remain in Georgia and each currently live about two hours from home. Their son Joe is in college with plans to go into the ministry. René joined Palmetto Baptist Church as the Interim Children's Minister in June of 2013 and began serving full time as the Children's Minister in January of 2014.


  • Jason McDaniel

    Student minister

    Jason has been the Student Minister of Palmetto Baptist Church since February, 2014. A native of Alabama, Jason is married to Michelle, who is a vital part of the Student Ministry. Jason holds an Associate in Applied Science Degree, with a focus in Drafting and Design Technology, from Central Alabama Community College, a Bachelor of Science Degree in Religion from Liberty University, along with a Masters Degree in Christian Ministry from Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary in Lynchburg, VA. Jason is also a former member of the Alabama Army National Guard where he proudly served for ten years as a 19D, (Cavalry Scout,) and a 27D, (Paralegal Specialist). In addition to serving at Palmetto Baptist Church, Jason has also served as Student Minister at churches in Tennessee and Alabama.


    Jason is married to the former, Michelle Vickers of Millerville, AL. Michelle is a math teacher at Heritage Christian School in Sharpsburg, GA. Michelle holds a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics from Faulkner University, along with a Masters Degree in Education, specializing in teaching and learning, from Liberty University, in Lynchburg, VA. Michelle is a very active part of the PBC Student Ministry in the area of Girl’s Ministry. Michelle is also the co-founder of G.E.M.S., (Giving Everything to My Savior) Ministries, a girl’s ministry which teachs girls about their true identity in Christ, as daughters of the King.


      

  • Alfonso illidge

    hispanic minister

    Alfonso Illidge came to PBC in 2014, from Central Church in Douglasville, GA, to serve as Interim Pastor for the Palmetto Hispanic Ministry. Rev. Illidge was later asked to stay as their pastor permanently. Rev. Illidge served as a pastor with Central Baptist Church Hispanic Ministry before coming to PBC. He is a graduate of Liberty University in Lynburng, VA. Rev. Illidge holds a Masters Degree in Divinity, with concentration in church work. He also has a Bachelors Degree from Interamerican University in Puerto Rico, and an Associate Degree in Electronics Engineering from the Institute of Technology. Alfonso is very missions minded and likes to travel when opportunity arises. He plans to pursue his Doctorate degree in the near future.


    Alfonso is married to Edna, and they have three children, Isaac Daniel, David Joel, and Alexandra. They also have one granddaughter, Harper Elin.


      

  • Kathy wood

    office manager

    Kathy and Tommy have been married over 30 years and have  been members at PBC for over 18 years. They have 2 children, Jonathan and Bethany. Jonathan Wood, who is married to Tiffany. He is a Student Pastor at First Baptist Church Senoia.  Bethany is married to Adam LaFlamme. They have 3 grandchildren, Shelby Wood, Harper Wood, and Gavin LaFlamme and one due in July. Kathy worked at Coweta County Board of Education for 12 years as a Secretary/Bookkeeper.


       

  • Jamie farr

    Weekday preschool director

    Jamie joined the Palmetto Baptist Church Weekday Preschool team in 2008, teaching the 4 year old class. She continued to teach the 4 year olds until 2013, at which time she became the PBC Weekday Preschool Director. Jamie started out her educational career as a teacher in the Fayette County School System. She is a long time member of Palmetto Baptist Church. Jamie is married to Scott Farr, and they have two children, a daughter, Reagan, and a son, Jackson. Her passion is serving the Lord through teaching children about God and His love for them!

    facilities manager

    Dwayne has been married to Myra Knox for many wonderful years. He has 6 children, Shantaria, Kimberley, Renard, Rashad, Latoya, and Dwayne, Jr. They are also blessed with three grandchildren, Jacorey, Jasean, and Dorian. He has been a part of the ministry here at PBC for over 10 years.  He is an Assistant Pastor at Rivertown United Methodist Church, in Fairburn, GA. He also serves as the Student Minister for his church, along with many other responsibilities. He is known as the "hotdog cooker" at his church!
